2 Arrested After Fire Is Reported in N. Jasper
Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a home fire on Williams Road in northern Jasper County which occurred late Monday afternoon.
Courtlee Wilton Taner, 21, of Rutledge and Tiffany Danielle Warren, 17, of Covington, have both been arrested in connection with the fire and charged by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) with criminal damage to property in the second degree and burglary. Since these are felony charges, bond has been set at $10,000.
According to information received from the 911 Center, there was no arson involved. It seems the two entered the home which is not occupied and left a pot cooking on the stove, which caused damage to the stove, counter tops and other parts of the kitchen.

Tony Dean Morgan, 40, Monticello—hold for warrant in Newton Co.
Cory Stephen Atwater, 33, Decatur—probation violation.
Keith Darral Clay, 46, Mansfield—driving while license suspended or revoked and speeding.
Willie James Preston, Jr., 37, Decatur—Jasper County Magistrate Court Bench warrant.
William Allen Gipson, 54, Monticello—warrant in Forsyth Co.
Charles Gregory Chupp, 51, Newborn—probation violation.
Steven Quinton Davis, 27, Monticello—probation violation.
Sabin Bryce Proffitt, 27, Monticello—Jasper County Magistrate Bench warrant.
Also, during this period deputies with the JCSO responded to 176 calls for service including 20 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 18 subject needs officer, 17 suspicious person and/or vehicle, 13 alarm, 10 juvenile complaint, seven indecent exposure, six assist motorist, five each theft by taking and argument, four domestic and 911 hang up, two each fight, burglary, livestock on road, intoxicated pedestrian, escort or convoy, music/noise complaint, threatening/harassing calls and abandoned vehicle, one each hit and run, mental person, missing person, discharge firearms, indecent exposure, vandalism of property, trespassing, possession of controlled substance and fraud/theft by deceiving.
During this same period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
Antonio Dewayne Dumas, 28, Monticello—child support and court ordered sentence.
Adrian Portillo, 25, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving while license suspended or revoked.
Marvis Armel Wyman, 28, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
Robert Lee Maddox, 44, Monticello—obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers and disorderly conduct.
Also during this period, officers with the MPD responded to 105 calls for service including 40 escort or convoy, 27 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five subject needs officer, three each trouble unknown and suspicious person and/or vehicle, two each domestic, foot patrol, argument and identity fraud/theft, one each alarm, dog disturbance, prowler report, speeding auto, hit and run, crowd disbursement, counterfeit, music/noise complaint, threatening/harassing calls, abandoned vehicle, possession of controlled substance and 911 hang up.
In addition, during this period the Georgia State Patrol reported the following two arrests:
Robert Lee Gibson, 47, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked and seatbelt.
Cody MacKenzie Mize, 24, Milledgeville—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
