Wrestling Camp Set
Jasper County High School Head Wrestling Coach Andy Rewis has announced his second annual wrestling camp will be held June 8-12 at the high school.
The middle school session will be from 9 a.m. to noon, and the high school session will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“We will start off with fundamentals and at the end of the week we’ll have a take-down tournament,” said Coach Rewis.
To enroll, Coach Rewis said all that is necessary is to show up and register, and it would be ideal if the participants’ parents accompany them the first day to sign them up.
Also, the camp will be for anyone wanting to participate, and not for just Jasper County School students. The cost is $50 for the week which includes a camp T-shirt.
Last year, in their first year of participation in the sport, Coach Rewis guided the Varsity ‘Canes to a 27-17 record and was runner-up in the region championship. The team also finished in the top 16 teams in the state and participated in the state duals tournament in Macon, and sent two wrestlers to the state individual tournament in which Cody Shubert placed.
For any other information, Coach Rewis may be contacted at 770-504-9030 or his cell at 478-696-2101.
