Cases Heard in Magistrate Court
Jasper County Magistrate Court convened last Friday, with Judge Angela M. Steele, presiding.
Michael Todd Hallas appeared for a probation revocation hearing and was sentenced to 15 days jail time with credit for time served.
Mike Herring also appeared for a probation revocation hearing and was given credit for time served and released with conditions.
Cara Campbell pled guilty to solid waste violation and was sentenced to 12 months probation and $300 in fines.
Allen Baitcher pled guilty to theft of utilities and was sentenced to 12 months probation and $300 in fines.
Jennifer Hayes pled not guilty to solid waste violation and is scheduled for trial on June 26.
The following individuals, with charges as indicated, failed to appear and bench warrants were issued for their arrest:
Willie Preston—theft of utilities.

James Sudduth—ordinance violations of solid waste, illegal usage of water and electricity and house numbers.
The charges of solid waste and road names/house numbers were dismissed versus Patrick D. Dennis.
The charge of solid waste was also dismissed versus Harry Keith.
Four other cases were continued.
Also, the Jasper County Magistrate Court convened on Friday, May 8 with Judge Kenneth G. Jackson, presiding.
The following individuals pled guilty to charges as indicated and were sentenced as follows:
•Kenneth Reid Mason, Jr. and Brian Ballard to violation of county logging ordinance—each sentenced to 12 months probation and $210 infines.
•Randy Phillip Hardy and Henry Clay Echols to animal running at large—each sentenced to 12 months probation and $210 in fines.
•Jason Smith to violation of driveway design/culvert installation—sentenced to 12 months probation and $100 in fines.
•Jennifer Allen to four counts of deposit account fraud—sentenced to 12 months probation and $710.22 in restitution.
The following individuals failed to appear to answer charges and a bench warrant was issued for their arrest: Stanley Lamar Malcom, Jerry Ray, Allen Baitcher and Darrell C. Sharich.
Also, the charges of animal running at large and dangerous dog were dismissed against Raabia Abdullah Muhammad.
