Burglar Falls Asleep on Job
Last Friday deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded to a silent alarm at a private residence on Hwy 16 East. According to reports, upon arriving on the scene they discovered three double pane windows broken out.
After gaining entrance to the residence the deputies found the alleged intruder, Daniel Lauren Smith, asleep upon the sofa.
Mr. Smith was awakened, arrested, and charged with burglary and criminal damage to property.
Also, Mr. Smith was charged with obstruction of officers after he failed to follow the verbal commands of the deputies.

Raymundo Gomez, Shady Dale: open container, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, license violation.
Jeannita Regene Jones, Monticello: Jasper County Superior Court bench warrant.
Matthew Eric Ford, Monticello: hold for warrant in Henry Co.
Ronnie Eugene Goolsby, Monticello: public drunkenness and parole violation.
Wendy Marie Brock, Covington: simple battery.
Cody Sanford Campbell, Monticello: hold for warrant in York County, S.C.
William Darnell Standifer, Monticello: child support.
Roberto Torres Williams, Shady Dale: child support.
Derrick Owen Dennis, Mansfield: child support.
Jarvis Jermaine Card, Adairsville: child support.
During this same period the Monticello Police Department reported the arrest of Ramiro Bulmaro Bautistia of Monticello and charged him with driving with no license and speeding.
Also, during this period deputies with the JCSO responded to 197 calls for service, and officers with the MPD responded to 96 calls.
