Three Lady Tracksters Head to State

Three members of the Lady ‘Cane Track team have earned the opportunity to compete in the state tournament.

Shanel Lewis, the second year region champion in the 300 hurdles and the 100 meter dash, will compete in these two events today at the state meet in Albany.

Quinetta Forby, the region champion in pole vaulting, and Queneshia Bennett, the first time region runner up in the shot putt event, will both compete tomorrow in Albany.

All three of these Lady ‘Canes will be hoping to move on to the state finals this Saturday, also in Albany.

Girls Track Coach Amanda Paulk said, “We’re all very excited for these girls.”

Pierre Tobler from the boys track team competed last Friday in the 800 meter event, but was not able to qualify for the finals.
