Piedmont Golfers Take 2nd at Region

A successful spring for the Piedmont Academy golf team culminated with a second place finish at the recent Region 1-AA meet and a trip to the state tournament.

The Cougars were second at region behind host Brentwood. Monsignor Donovan and Strong Rock rounded out the top four.
Piedmont then advanced to the state tournament at the Rocky Creek Golf Club in Vidalia but was unable to place.
Still, coach Ryan Berg was pleased with how his team finished the season, especially the second-place showing at region.

“It was the first time in a while we had done that well,” Berg said. “It was our first trophy since 1987.”
Carter Greeson and Hayden Lewis were both named to the All-Region golf team. Also competing for the Cougars were Reed Lewis, Garrett Richardson, Ryan McBroom, and Tyler Cullum.
