Market Festival On the Square

Jasper County’s Market Festival on the Square opened last Saturday with many vendors and visitors, and generally a good day reported by all.

Parking was scarce around the Square as numerous visitors checked out the produce, artwork, plants, homemade goodies and other unique items available for sale on the Square. Les Steele provided the music throughout the morning. The Market will be open every Saturday through October from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

Persons interested in becoming vendors may contact David Dyer at 706-468-8683, and persons wanting to provide entertainment are asked to contact Sage Edwards, 706-468-1995. Fresh strawberries were available Saturday, and as the season progresses other fresh vegetables will be offered.

With the Market opening the day before Mother’s Day, plants, baked goods and other gift items were in high demand. Restrooms are available in the Visitor’s Center.
