Jan Dowda Huff

Jan Dowda Huff, 78, died Sunday, May 10, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Huff was born in Fulton County. She lived in Atlanta for a number of years before moving to Monticello in 1977. She retired from the Phillips Electric Company as a technician.

A son, Alan Loyd, and mother, Naomi Bates Hoffman, preceded her in death.

Survivors by her husband, James C. Huff of Monticello; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Kay Huff of Monticello and Daryl and Marilyn Huff of Augusta; and grandchildren, Kate Canterbury, Jessica Moose, Wesley Huff, Tyler Huff, Ethan Huff, and Kyle Huff.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home, with burial in West View Cemetery. Rev. Charles Roper officiated.

Pallbearers were Dave Moose, Tim Canterbury, Tyler Huff, Wesley Huff, and Ethan Huff.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 12, from 6-8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations to the Georgia Cancer Coalition, 50 Hunt Plaza, Suite 700, Atlanta, GA 30303.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
