Henry Paul Evans

Henry Paul Evans, 91, died Saturday, May 2, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.

Henry Evans was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. His parents were the late W. Patrick Evans and Lillian Maude Kelly Evans. He served proudly and honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps. in the 96th Infantry Division during World War II. He retired as a department foreman from the Monticello Bobbin Mill and was a guard for the Jasper County Work Camp for a number of years. Henry attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and the VFW in Eatonton. He loved to garden. His wife, Mae Belle Wagner Evans, preceded him in death 25 years ago. Three brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and C.P. Hicks of Milledgeville, Jo and Alan Small of Monticello, Sue and Robin Laudicina of Covington, and Tammy Evans of Conyers; and grandchildren, Tony Hicks, Randi Small, Joseph Laudicina, John Laudicina, Jr., Tabitha Laudicina, and Amber Laudicina.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment in West View Cemetery.

Rev. Charles Roper will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers are Tony Hicks, C.P. Hicks, Alan Small, Joseph Laudicina, and Robin Laudicina.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Georgia Sheriff’s Associatin Youth Homes, PO Box 1000, Stockbridge, GA 30281.

Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 4, at Jordan Funeral Home.
