Kiwanis Award Recipients

Twelve local organizations received funds from the Monticello Kiwanis Club at its annual awards luncheon held last Thursday.
Recipients included Liz Caldwell on behalf of Jakes Fishing Rodeo, Bekah Mullinax and Talethia Mason with Reading Is Fundamental, Nita Mix and Carol McElheney with the Jasper County Library, Janice Arnold and Lucy Ray on behalf of Jasper County 4-H, Lisa Kelly on behalf of Jasper County Primary and Washington Park Elementary music programs, Ray Buck on behalf of Jasper County Middle School music programs, Chris Savage on behalf of Jasper County High School music programs, Dr. Michael Rossi on behalf of Piedmont Academy music programs, Ed Westbrook on behalf of Give Burns a Boot/Jasper County Emergency Services and Tracy Trovillo with Jasper County Family Connection.

Project Linus also received funds. Kiwanis sponsors the Talent and Art Showcase and also hosts Flag Day, the Community Sunrise Service, and the Venison Cookoff.
Raising money throughout the year, Kiwanis donates money to programs benefiting children in this community.
