Rev. H.G. “Sonny” Drummond

Rev. H.G. “Sonny” Drummond, 77 of Monticello, formerly of Stone Mountain died Friday, Feb. 22.

Rev. Drummond was a minister of 10 churches, including Providence Baptist Church in Shady Dale, from 1966-2007.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; George Cuthbert Drummond and Cammie Ora Drummond, two brothers; J.H. Drummond and Millard Drummond and two sisters; Zola Pickens and Louise Mobley.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years Tessie Drummond, daughter, Diane Holder, Eatonton; sons, Hal Drummond of Monticello and Jimmy Drummond of Lithonia; seven grandchildren; George Chandler and husband Jason Gallacher, Ruben Chandler, all of Eatonton, Doug Drummond and Terry Drummond, both of Atlanta, Paige Davis of Lilburn,Ross Drummond of Madison,Jesse Drummond of Lawrenceville,seven great-grandchildren; Taylor, Jenny, Jordan, Cody, Garner, Bubba and Mason; sister, Sara Lord of Auburn, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 24, at Wages and Sons, Stone Mountain Chapel with Revs. Michael Dickens and Ed Westbrook officiating, with burial at Melwood Cemetery.
