The Spirit Days began with Crazy Hair/ Pajama Day on Monday, Tacky/Camo Day on Tuesday, Color Day on Wednesday (where each grade dressed in a pre-designated color), Opposite Gender/Decades Day on Thursday, and Spirit Day on Friday to climatically conclude the festivity.
The junior class conducted a Car Smashing activity all week long, a Powder Puff football game (uderclassmen vs. seniors), and finally the traditional homecoming parade around the square. The Car Smashing raised money by charging students $1 for four hits and $10 to shatter a window. The Powder Puff game charged a $2 admission with an amazing turnout, with the senior team snatching the win.
Also, the powder puff game offered great entertainment with the male cheerleading squads for each team. Traditionally, the parade included floats representing each class, the young women of the homecoming court, and floats for the Clubs at JCHS.
Y-Club created its own competition among the rivaling classes by selling Spirit Links for each grade, and the junior class raised the most money. The Future Business Leaders of America organization sold purple and silver beads to boost spirit for the week.
At the end of the school day on Friday, a pep rally was held to inform the student body of the winners for each competition of the week. The senior class swept the Float Contest and the Hallway Decorating Contest to officially win the recognition of most spirit. The night concluded with the presentation of Senior Night and the homecoming court at the football game.
