Barbara Jane Waits James

Barbara Jane Waits James, 84, of Forsyth, formerly of Jackson, Butts County, died Monday, Oct. 22. She was born in Jasper County on Oct. 21, 1923.

Mrs. James was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin James, and a daughter, Nancy. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Ruth Waits of Jasper County. She was a merchant and service station owner; she was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Jackson.

Survivors include two daughters, Faye Heath and Rita Walker, both of Forsyth: four grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, three brothers; Jimmy and Carl Waits of Jackson and Gene Waits of Fayetteville; four sisters; Edith Jones and Shirley Waits of Atlanta, Emily Stringfellow of Lithia Springs and Madelyn Bryans of Madison, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on October 25.
