Several Arrests Are Reported
Tyrone Thurman of Monticello has been charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, driving while license suspended and possession of marijuana.
A deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s office observed Mr. Thurman’s vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign or make a turn signal, and initiated a traffic stop near the Family Foods grocery store in Monticello, and discovered several rocks of crack in his possession, according t the incident report.
Also, Quentin Mitchell, a passenger in Mr. Thurman’s vehicle was charged with possession/manufacture/ distribution of a controlled substance and open container.
The JCSO reported these additional arrests during the period August 7 through 13:

Stephen Kendall Jones, Monticello—DUI, failure to maintain lane, open container.
Vantineus Montray McClendon, Madison—hold for warrant at Madison Police Department.
Derek Darnell Campbell, Monticello—obstruction or hindering a law enforcement officer, simple battery, probation violation, child support.
Benjamin Roper Williamson, Covington—driving while license suspended or revoked, operation of vehicle without current plate, possession/manufacture/distribution of a controlled substance, sale/distribution/possession of a dangerous, prescription drugs not in original container, no insurance.
Also, during this period deputies with the JCSO responded to 172 calls for service including 31 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 12 accidents, five theft by taking, three livestock in road, two each dog disturbance, burglary, and vandalism of property, one each fight, and armed robbery.
The Monticello Police Department also made several arrests during this period, as follows:
Gerado Gutierre Resendiz, Monticello—DUI, reckless driving, no insurance, expired license.
Larry Wayne Andrews, Monticello—simple battery.
Ardrecus Rashard Banks, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
The MPD also responded to 88 calls for service during this period including five crowd disbursement, three each argument, persons refusing to leave, one each fight, dog disturbance, theft by taking, juvenile complaint and vandalism of property.
The Georgia State Patrol arrested Rodriquez Montrell Davis of Monticello and charged him with open container, obstruction or hindering law enforcement officer, driving while license suspended or revoked, and safety belt violation.
