Julia Mae Banks

Funeral services for Julia Mae “Sister” Banks, 71, were held Tuesday, Jan. 2 at Freedonia A.M.E. Church with burial in South View Cemetery. The Rev. W.B. Card officiated.
She died Friday, Dec. 29.

Mrs. Banks was born April 11, 1935 to the late Addie Mae Rivers and Ivory Ward.
She was preceded in death by five children, Eddie Ward,Rayford Ward, Larry Banks, Danny Banks, and Scottie Banks; and a grandson, Rickey L. Sands.

Survivors include her husband, Elijah “Buddy” Banks of Monticello; six children, Brenda Lemons of Monticello, Sylvie Wissinger of Covington, Judy Johnson of Juliette, David Banks of Monticello, James Banks of Monticello, and Michael Banks of Covington; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Smith & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
