Ruby Brown

Funeral services for Rubie LaVaughn Brown, 60, will be held Thursday, Nov. 9 at Springfield Baptist Church beginning at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in South View Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Horton will officiate.

She died Monday, Nov. 6.

Mrs. Brown was born August 9, 1946 to Roberta Bland Brown and the late Ruben Brown, Sr. in Monticello.

Survivors include a daughter, Marteale Brown of Shady Dale; three sons, Kenneth Thurman, Gregory Thurman, and Frederick Whitening, all of Monticello; brother, Eddie Brown of Monticello; sisters, Roberta B. Anderson, Loretta Lawrence, Brenda Miller, and Cynthia Davis, all of Monticello; and eight grandchildren.

Smith & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
