James Pennamon
Funeral services for James Pennamon,62, were held Saturday, Nov. 4 at St. James A.M.E. Church. Rev. Donna Marie Calix officiated.
He died October 26.
Mr. Pennamon was born March 26, 1944 in Monticello to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lee and Daisy Pennamon, Sr. He was educated in the Jasper County School System and joined Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early age.
He was previously employed at Mead Paper Company where he worked and trained for more than 20 years. At the time of death, he was employed by Emory University in Atlanta.
Mr. Pennamon was a member of the Kalolni Brotherhood Club at the Trinity House of Big Bethel Church in Atlanta.
He loved sports of any nature whether playing or watching and especially favored baseball.
Mr. Pennamon was preceded in death by three brothers, Burney, Augustus, and Willie Pennamon, and a sister, Lizzie Mae Goolsby.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie T. Pennamon; son, LaJames Terrell; two step-daughters, Telisha and Shell Pennamon; three grandsons: three sisters, Doris Rivers, Nan Logan, and Jo Anderson; four brothers, Harvey Pennamon, Albert Pennamon, Hollis Pennamon, and Carl Pennamon; aunt, Magnolia Pennamon; uncle, Milton Pennamon; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers and flower girls were former classmates.
Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
