Mrs. Anne Pittard Hayes

Mrs. Anne Pittard Hayes of Lawrenceville, formerly of Sandy Springs, died October 7.

She was born in Monticello to Dr. and Mrs. Linton Y. Pittard in February 1926. She attended Georgia State College for Women at Milledgeville and earned a degree in Home Economics in 1947. She became a school teacher and taught in Toccoa and Atlanta.

She married Donald Hayes, also of Monticello, and in 1958 moved to Sandy Springs where she lived until 1995. She enjoyed and excelled at all facets of homemaking and was an accomplished seamstress and also enjoyed needle crafts. She was an active and devoted member of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church and worked for Southern Company Services from 1974 until retirement in 1989.

Survivors include her daughter, Louanne H. Barry, Lawrenceville, son and daughter in law, Doug and Lauren Hayes, Lawrenceville, sister, Mary Yancey Pittard, Gaines-ville, and grandchildren, Brad Hayes, Randy Hayes, Elizabeth Barry and Allison Barry.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 10, at Sandy Springs Chapel with Chaplain Fred Caldwell officiating; interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park.
