M. L. Johnson

Morris Lonnie Johnson, 75, a resident of Turtle Cove for 35 years, died Sunday, October 8, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.

Mr. Johnson was born in Hazelhurst to the late Lonnie and Lettie White Johnson. He retired from the Federal Aviation Agency in Hampton and served on the Turtle Cove Board for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Helen Yancey Johnson of Monticello; children, Greg Johnson and Jimmy Johnson, both of Monticello, and Belinda Allen Cobb of Jackson; granddaughters, Andria Allen and Loni Johnson; great-granddaughter, Destiny Johnson; brother, Y.T. Johnson of Tennessee; and sisters, Bonnie Moody of Eastman and Fay Clifford of Hazelhurst.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Abbey Hospice, 215 Azalea Court, Social Circle, GA 30025.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
