Billy Pope

Funeral services for Billy Marshall Pope, 63, of McDonough will be held Saturday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at 4 p.m. in the College Park Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Lewis will officiate.

He died September 27 at Sacred Journey Hospice.
Mr. Pope was born July 3, 1943 in Fulton County to Drucilla Sue Marchant Pope of Monticello and the late Hubert Cary Pope.

He had retired from Delta Airlines after 32 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hapeville. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his mother survivors include his wife, Harriet Straider Pope of McDonough; children, Kathy Zumbro of Marietta and Linda Pope of Chamblee; grandson, Georgie Zumbro of Marietta; sister, Brenda Trice of Monticello.

Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough has charge of arrangements.
