Myrtle Waits Henderson

Myrtle Waits Henderson, 98, of Gray, died Friday, July 21, at Heartland Hospice in Macon.

Mrs. Henderson was a native of Jasper County. Her parents were the late Arshion Waits and Pearla Goolsby Waits. She lived in Macon for a number of years before moving to Gray over 12 years ago.

She was an avid gardener and loved traveling.
Her husband, Millard Ernest Henderson, four brothers and three sisters, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janelle and Stan Thornton of Gray; grandsons and spouse Chris and Belinda Thornton and Tim Thornton; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Thornton, Jamie Thornton and Madison Thornton; fourstep-great grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Randolph Pittard and Esther Waits of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m.
Sunday, July 23, at Adgateville Baptist Church.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, July 23, at 2 p.m. at Adgateville Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with burial in Hebron Cemetery in Monticello. Dr. Jim Kinnebrew was to officiate.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
