Probation Is Revoked
The probation of Willie Montrez Goodrum was revoked by Judge William Prior in Jasper County Criminal Court Tuesday, and he was sentenced to serve 18 months in the state prison with the balance of his probation terminated.
In March of 2000, Mr. Goodrum was convicted and sentenced to 10 years for murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and carrying a deadly weapon at a public gathering, according to court documents. After being released from prison he violated his parole by being charged with criminal damage to government property, a felony, and obstruction of an officer.
Keith J. Maddox’s probation was revoked and his sentence to serve 90 days in the Jasper County Jail will be suspended upon entrance into a diversion center for a minimum of four months or until released by the diversion center after all fines are paid. Mr. Maddox was originally sentenced to three years probation on charges of forgery in the first degree and making false statements. He violated his probation by failure to report.

Christopher Lance Fowler also had his parole revoked for one year and he is to report to the Jasper County Jail this Friday, June 30. Mr. Fowler served five years for child molestation before being released on parole. He violated his parole when he was charged with simple battery and disorderly conduct.
A Motion to Suppress was filed by council on behalf of Ricky Daniel Still charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and two counts of receiving stolen property.
The motion requests that certain evidence against the defendant be excluded based on his claim that law enforcement officers gathered evidence against him without a search warrant. Judge Prior took the motion under advisement and will render a decision at a later date.
A guilty plea was entered by Travis Lee Caldwell on charges of possession of firearms by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana less than one ounce. He was sentenced to two years probation plus fines.
In two cases from last week, not guilty pleas were entered by Dale Wesley Dockery charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and Danny Lee Brantley charged with two counts of aggravated assault and criminal damage to property.
