GBI Completes Investigation

Tom Davis, Special Agent in Charge of the Milledgeville office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said this week his agency has completed its investigation into the bullet hole in the hood of a car involved in a fatal traffic accident in Jasper County last month.

Mr. Davis would not say, however, what the investigation revealed. He said when the report is typed up it will be submitted to the District Attorney who will determine if any charges are to be brought.

The bullet hole is the result of an accidental discharge of an officer’s firearm, according to the Monticello Police Department report.

District Attorney Fred Bright said he would review the report with an open mind and make a determination at that time how to proceed.
