Cougar Baseball Team Recognized
Piedmont Academy recognized its 2006 baseball team with its annual awards banquet last week.
Randy Reagin earned All-State honors this spring for his role in helping the Diamond Cougars advance to the second round of the Class AA state playoffs. In addition, Reagin was named All-Region along with teammates Cris Jackson, Clint Fields, Joey Schroeder and Taylor Jackson.
Piedmont finished second in Region 1-AA. Coach Danny Camp also presented the following awards during last week’s banquet:
•Team MVP: Reagin
•Hustle Award: Schroeder
•Student-Athlete: Taylor Jackson
•Coach’s Award: Brent Brown
The returning Piedmont players will play several games on a summer schedule in June, Camp said.
The Cougars already have games with John Hancock and Windsor lined up and Camp is working on adding contests against John Milledge and Brentwood.
