Cougar Golf Team Looks to Region
The Piedmont Academy varsity golf team has put two additional matches under its belt and is beginning to looking toward next month’s region tournament.
In recent action, the Cougar linksters played Nathanael Green Academy in a road match Monday. Zach Hauther (46) and Josh Mobley (48) paced the Cougars, who finished eight strokes behind Nathanael Greene.
Prior to the match with Nathanael Greene, Piedmont competed in a three-school match against Gatewood and Monroe Academy. Hauther and Mobley were also the low medalists for the Cougars on this day. Hauther finished with a score of 40 while Mobley totaled a 46.
Piedmont, coached by Tony Lewis and Mike Hauther, will play at home Monday, April 24, against Briarwood and Gatewood. The match will be at Hunter Pope Country Club.
The region tournament is scheduled for May 3 in Waynesboro.
