George Driskell

Funeral services for George Driskell were held March 11 at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Burial was held March 13 in Evergreen Memorial Park in Maple Heights. Ohio. The Rev. Stephen D. Sullivan officiated.
He died March 2.

Mr. Driskell was born February 4, 1938 to the late Eugene “Tit” and Willie Lee Driskell of Monticello. He attended Rockspring Baptist Church as a youth and was educated at the Jasper County Training School.

Mr. Driskell was employed at Cuyahoga Stamping for more than 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. He also shared the joy of cooking with his late wife Eleanor, who he married in June 1957.

In addition to his wife, one brother John Driskell preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Dreannia Hemphill and Daphne Driskell; four grandchildren, Douglass, III, Danielle, Deonte, and Daija; great-grandchild, Emanuael; brother, Willie Lee Driskell, Jr.; two sisters, Geneva and Sarah; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Anthony Raymond, Lee Ellis, Jr., Darrell Hall, Artino Raymond, Toriano Watkins, and George Pittman.
