Cane Track Team Tops Jackson

The Hurricane Track team ran away with an impressive performance and first place finish Tuesday afternoon at their season opening meet at Jackson High School.

The Cane squad earned 87 points to Jackson’s 52 points during the two-team meet. The boys had 18 competitors and Shondra Williams was the sole girls competitor.

“I’m extremely proud of the team for their performance yesterday as well as how they conducted themselves off the track,” said track coach Robert Ingram.

Coach Ingram said that Tuesday’s competition was a great start to the season that gives them an extra incentive to work harder in preparation for the region meet.
