Addison Lee Rooks
Funeral services for Addison Lee Rooks were held March 8 at Springfield Baptist Church with burial in South View Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Horton officiated.
He died March 2 at his residence.
Mr. Rooks was born March 6, 1960 in Atlanta to Madotha and Jimmy Lee Rooks. He sang with the Sunbeam Choir at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church in Atlanta, and he was educated at Douglass High School, also in Atlanta. He also received technical training in Atlanta.
He joined Springfield Baptist Church in Monticello at a very early age.
Mr. Rooks was a self-employed painter and an avid fresh and saltwater fisherman.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his brothers Hillius Cordie Rooks and Gregory Bernard Rooks, both of Atlanta; sister, Susan Edwards of Hartford, Conn.; two nieces, Beyounis Danielle Rooks and Diamond B. Rooks; two nephews, Cameron Hillius Rooks and Noah R. Rooks; three aunts; and a number of other relatives.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
