Jesse Gude Is Charged with Burglary

Jesse James Gude of a Macon address was arrested last Friday evening, Feb. 24, on a warrant which was taken out on February 13, by the Monticello Police Department, charging him with burglary and obstruction or hindering a law enforcement officer.

According to Chief Danny Norris of the MPD, Mr. Gude is currently being charged with the recent burglaries at the Silver Rabbit and Monticello First United Methodist Church, and is incarcerated in the Jasper County jail. Chief Norris also added that he felt the recent rash of burglaries and home invasions would be curtailed.

In two other incidents, Mrs. L.H. Aiken’s car was stolen last week from her garage at her home on Hillsboro Street. Officers with MPD have talked with neighbors, but there are no developments so far in this case.

In addition, an empty rental home belonging to Adam McGinnis was vandalized when a hole was made into the door. The MPD reported the hole appeared to be from a swift kick, and that there were no eye witnesses or any other evidence available.

Also, the Sac O’ Suds on Hwy. 16 west near the Butts County line was broken into last Thursday evening, February 23. Three juveniles and a 17-year-old, suspects in the incident, were taken into custody by Newton County officers who caught them attempting to enter Potts Grocery on Hwy. 212 in Newton County.

In other crime related information the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests for the period of February 20 through 27:

•Joe Ben Myricks, Flovilla—aggravated assault.

•Kenneth Anthony Thurman, Monticello—possession of marijuana/less than an ounce, child support.

•Henry E. Mays, Monticello—disorderly conduct.

•Billie Frank Manning, Monti-cello—disorderly conduct, battery.

•Andrew Malaka Bostic, Monticello—drivers license violation, seat belt violation.

•Michael Jerome Wioskowski, Madison—entering auto.
•Boris Devon Greene, Monticello—child support.

•Willie Charles Driskell, Monticello—probation violation.

•Robert Whidby, Monticello—child support.

•Joseph Grant Minix, Covington—simple battery.

•Tonya Michelle Swan-Engblom, Newborn—simple battery.

•Jeremiah Verno Tilson, Covington—probation violation.

•Charles David Nipper, Monticello—hold for warrants at Forsyth Police Dept.

•Christopher Benard Pilcher, Greensboro—Probate Court Bench warrant.

•Martin Manzano Fuentes, Eatonton—following too close, no drivers license.

•Roque Gabino, Eatonton—following too close, no drivers license.

•Christopher Allen Copeland, Mansfield—possession of marijuana/less than an ounce.

•Jimmy Lee Smith, Newborn—driving under the influence.

•Elizabeth Marie Vickers, Monticello—driving under the influence (less safe).

•Kevin Vaughn Wayt, Mansfield—possession of marijuana/less than an ounce.

Also, during the same period, February 20-26, deputies with the JCSO served thirty-three warrants and seven civil processes. They conducted 12 traffic stops resulting in six citations and six warnings, and issued one citation for violation of a county ordinance.
In addition, deputies responded to 139 calls for service as follows:

Twenty-three subject needs officer, 15 suspicious person/vehicle, 10 each domestic dispute and traffic accident, and seven activated alarm.
Also, six each, juvenile complaint, trouble unknown; four each, dog complaint, escort; three each burglary, livestock/carcass on roadway, fire, threatening/harassing phone calls.

Also, two each intoxicated driver, assist EMS, loud music/noise, road hazard, trespassing, VGCSA; one each fight, prowler, disperse crowd, missing person, extra patrol, 4-wheeler, vandalism, 911 hang-up.
