Andrew Willis Manning
Funeral services for Andrew “Bum” Willis Manning, were held January 29 at St. James A.M.E. Church with burial in South View Cemetery. Pastor Donna Calix officiated.
He died January 25.
Mr. Manning was born April 26, 1944 to the late Otis C. Manning and Lillie Bell Flournoy in Monticello. Joining St. James A.M.E. Church at an early age, he spent all of his adult life in Monticello.
Mr. Manning was an employee of the City of Monticello Grounds Department for 24 years until his retirement in 2002.
Seven siblings, Clyde Manning, Otis Manning, Jr., Jessie Lee Manning, Willie Sims, Carolyn Brinson, Frances M. White, and Myrdes Middleton, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include a brother, Billy Frank Manning; three sisters, Rev. Elizabeth Lucky of Savannah, Silvie Lee Manning, and Ruby L. Manning; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were City of Monticello Employees.
Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
