Monticello Middle School Canes Advance In League Playoffs

The Monticello Middle School Hurricanes continued a three game winning streak Monday during the league play-offs held at Social Circle High School.

By defeating Carver 50-41, the squad earned the right to continue in play-off action this week against the league leader, Greene County. That game was to be played Wednesday in order to determine the contenders for the league championship game on Saturday, Jan. 28.

If the young Canes managed a victory over the 12-1 Tigers they will play Saturday morning but a loss ends their post-season.

Eighth grader Keldrick Davis scored 24 points against Carver; Justin Grier had 11; Joseph Standifer, 8; Adrian Campbell, 4; and Donterio Digby, 3.
