Harry Lynn Manville
Harry Lynn Manville, 80, of Monticello, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.
Mr. Manville was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. His parents were the late Harry Lewis Manville and Cora Bell Freeman Manville. During World War II, Mr. Manville served in the U.S. Navy on ships that were engaged in much combat. He survived the sinking of two ships on which he served. Before retirement, he was a machinist for the Warner Robins Air Force Base.
“Mr. Harry Lynn” loved music, hunting, fishing and the Atlanta Braves. His love of music extended to teaching his children the guitar and playing in a country-western band called Harry Lynn and the Stardusters. His sister, Eunice Stanford, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Mike and Pam Manville, Tony and Cherry Manville and Sissy and Kahle Mason, all of Monticello, Phil and Gloria Manville of Warner Robins and Hariett and Eddie Hunt of Macon; grandchildren, Brittney Manville, Ben Manville, Emily Beasley, Christopher Manville, Luke Jackson, Paige Jackson, Kahla Mason, Kylee Mason, Kade Mason and Phillip Manville; special friend, Phyllis Cunard of Monticello; brothers and sisters, Robert Lewis Manville of Phoenix City, Ala. and Joseph Franklin Manville, Beth Wagner and Gloria Mitchell, all of Eatonton; and great-grandchildren, Mattie Boutwell, Tyler Boutwell, Kelsey Boutwell, Kaley Peterman, Logan Yawn and Cory Yawn, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at Monticello Baptist Church, with burial in Henderson Cemetery in Monticello. Dr. Kerry Bunn will officiate.
Pallbearers are Ben Manville, Christopher Manville, Luke Jackson, Phillip Manville, Willie Manville and Bubba Stanford.
Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
