Walker Gude

Funeral services for Walker Lee Gude, 51, were held Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the chapel of Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Pastor Donna Marie Calix officiated.

He died October 22 at College Park Health Center.
Mr. Gude was born May 26, 1954 to the late Samuel Gude, Sr. and Hattie Kate Burney Gude. He joined St. James A.M.E. Church at an early age and attended Jasper County Training School. As a youth, he loved to shoot marbles.

He worked in the Gude Family Store prior to relocating to Atlanta where he was self employed.
Mr. Gude’s sisters, Mary Carter, Gartine Gude, Virginia Gude, Capus B. Gude, Eunice D. Gude, Dorothy Gude, and brothers, Charlie Gude, Eddie M. Gude, and Marvin Gude, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sisters, Martha Pounds of Detroit, Mich., Catherine Standifer of Atlanta, and Annette Howard of Shady Dale; brothers, Samuel Gude, Jr. of Warner Robins, Fred Gude of Decatur, Nathaniel Gude of Monticello, and Othis Gude of Shady Dale; and a number of other relatives and friends.

The family suggest memorials to the College Park Health Center in Memory of Walker Lee Gude, 1765 Temple Avenue, College Park, Georgia 30337.
Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
