Ronald Millen

A memorial service for A. Ronald Millen, 65, of Oaks, Pa., will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 651 College Street in Monticello. Burial services will be private.

He died October 21 after a two-year battle with ALS Lou Gerhig’s disease.

Mr. Millen was born in Monticello to the late Reuben and Mabel Millen. He worked for Quest Diagnostics, formerly SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories, for 22 years as a medical technologist and a customer service representative.

Before moving to Pennsylvania, Ron worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta. He was an avid fisherman and traveler, often combining both hobbies. An outdoors-man, he enjoyed walks in the woods, kayaking and working in the yard.

His brothers, Vernon Millen of Forest Park and Homer Millen of Conyers, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Faith Conant Millen; brother, Ed Millen of Jacksonville Beach, Fl.; sister, Helen Stone of Monticello; three nephews; four nieces; eight grand-nephews; two grand nieces; one great grand nephew; and one great grand niece.

In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations be made to the ALS Hope Foundation, 219 North Broad Street, 7th Floor, P.O. Box 40777, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
