Piedmont JV Falls to Gatewood
The Piedmont Academy junior varsity football team is probably glad it doesn’t have to play Gatewood any more this season.
The JV Gators handed the JV Cougars another big loss last Thursday, the second time in as many weeks. Gatewood took a 42-0 win in the rematch after winning 38-0 in the first meeting.
“We had a hard time moving the football against them,” said Piedmont JV coach Danny Camp. “Gatewood has a great junior varsity team. Their junior varsity is as good as I’ve seen. We gave up some big plays and you can’t do that against a team like that.”

The JV Cougars will close out the 2005 season today against Monroe Academy at home at 6 p.m. The JV Mustangs took a 20-12 game earlier this season.
“We have some good football players,” Camp said. “We just need to get them in the weight room and need to work on their fundamentals and technique.”
