Gladys Striplin Phelps

Gladys Striplin Phelps of Griffin died October 5.
She was born December 13, 1921. Mrs. Phelps will always be remembered for her fun-loving attitude and unconditional love for others. She never met a stranger and rescued many animals through out her lifetime.

Survivors include her husband, David Phelps; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Victor Yepez of Boca Raton, Fla. and Nancy and Richard Martinez of Griffin; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Glenda Striplin of Shady Dale; three stepsons and their wives, Paul and JoAnne Phelps, Dan and Barbara Phelps and Steve and Suzanne Phelps, all of Michigan, and 12 grandchildren.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Griffin Humane Society, Susan Blakely, treasurer, 443 Mimosa Drive, Griffin, Ga., 30224.

Mrs. Phelps chose to donate her remains to the Emory University School of Medicine. A memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 16, at the First United Methodist Church in Griffin.
