Richard Bragg

Richard Bragg, 59, formerly of Monticello, died September 18 in Ontario, Canada, after an extended illness. The family held a private memorial service September 28 in Ontario.

He was a staff sergeant in the Marines and served in Vietnam. He later retired as a police sergeant after 20 years with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C.

The Braggs moved to Monticello in 1989 where he worked at Dexter Axle for 10 years. Dick and Missy, were married for 36 years and were Jasper residents from 1989-2001. While in Monticello, they were members of Monticello Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Missy” Bragg of Covington; two sons, Jeff Bragg and his wife, Victoria, of Conyers and Kevin Bragg and his wife, Michelle, currently stationed in Osan AFB in Korea; and grandchildren, Abigail and David of Conyers.
