MS ‘Canes Win Fourth
The MS ‘Canes traveled to Morgan last Wednesday, March 23, and posted their fourth win of the season, 9-4. Keaton Ring pitched and only gave up one earned run, while the bats came alive to score the highest number of runs this year.
On Friday, March 25, they were on the road again, traveling to Greene County where they suffered their first shutout of the season by a score of 3-0. Coach Tray Smith said “Nate Peterson pitched well enough to win, didn’t give up any earned runs, but we could only come up with four hits.”
The hits were made by Colt Spivey, Clint Lavaughn, Shane Seabolt and Ethan Huff.
With only four regular season games left, Coach Smith said, “We’ll be working hard the rest of the season and hope to get the second seed in the region, which will give us a bye in the first round of the league tournament scheduled for April 19 through 23, in Social Circle.”
Their next game is at home vs. GMC this Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m.
