MS ‘Canes Win

The Middle School Hurricane baseball team got back to its winning ways on Friday, March 18, when they traveled to Carver and won, 10-8, bringing their season record back in the plus column at 3-2.

Nate Peterson got the win, pitching five innings, and Ethan Huff came in to pitch the last inning for the save. There were two hits each by Jonathan Cleveland, Dane Christiano, Nate Peterson, Keldrick Davis, and one by Miles Campbell.

Coach Tray Smith said, “This team plays very hard, they really want to win, and you can tell that by the way they work. Our two losses were only by one run and two runs. I’m very proud of this team and they are a pleasure to coach.”

Varsity coach Doug Huff added his compliments when he said, “I’m very pleased with the turn around of this team from last season when they were winless. They are three and two, and had a chance to win the two games they lost.

They represent a big positive for the future.”
The team was to resume action yesterday, March 23, at Morgan County starting at 4:30 p.m., and was scheduled to play tomorrow, March 25 at Greene County starting at 5 p.m.
