Robert Woodrow Wild

Robert Woodrow Wild, 87, of Mansfield, died Monday, Oct. 18, at The Retreat Nursing Home.

Mr. Wild was a native of Franklin, N.C. and moved to Jasper County in 1944. His parents were the late Judson A. Wild and Lela Ray Wild. He was a member of Oak Dale Baptist Church in Franklin. Before retirement, he owned and operated a sawmill and he farmed.

His grandson, Josh Wild; and brothers, James B. Wild and Frank M. Wild, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Roper Wild of Mansfield; children and their spouses, Linda and Billy Piper of Mansfield, Martha and Rusty Duke of Nashville, Tenn., Danny and Helen Wild, Larry and Joy Wild and Tony and Janell Wild, all of Monticello; grandchildren, Tracy Duke, Shannon Jones, Shawn Piper, Garrett Wild, Ashley Wild and Courtney Wild; great-grandchildren, Brittni Jones, Jonathan Jones, Blake Jones, Chase Duke, Hope Duke and Candice Watts; and sister, Pauline Sanders of Flat Rock, N.C.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home, with burial in West View Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Roper will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Wild, Tracy Duke, Chase Duke, Dane Jones, Mark Harrison, Edwin Allen and Kyle Allen.

The family suggests memorials to the The Retreat Nursing Home, 898 College St., Monticello, GA 31064 in lieu of flowers.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Jordan Funeral Home.

Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
