Missie Mae Tuggle Wood

Missie Mae Tuggle Wood, 90, of Eatonton, died Thursday, August 19, at the Athens Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Wood was a native of Barrow County. She lived in Lumpkin County before moving to the Putnam/Jasper County area 43 years ago. Her parents were the late Thomas T. Tuggle and Mary Glaze Tuggle. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Elbert Asbury Wood, and five sons preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Leroy Wood of Shady Dale, Ruth Pope of Eatonton, Eugene Wood and Carole Wages, both of Monticello, Sue Shupe of Milledgeville, Darrell Moses of Cumming and Jane Spooner of Columbia, S.C.; 28 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great, great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 21, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home in Monti-cello. Burial was in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Shady Dale. The Rev. Curtis Wood officiated.

Pallbearers were Maylon Wages, B.J. Wages, John Lance, Terry Wood, Clint Voyles and C.J. Voyles.
