Mrs. Lola Lewis
Mrs. Lola Brown Lewis, 83, of Forsyth, died June 12, at Monroe County Hospital in Forsyth.
Mrs. Lewis was a native of Rome. She was a long-time resident of Shady Dale until moving to Forsyth eight years ago. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
She was a former Sunday School teacher, president of Church Missionary Society and an active participant in all church activities. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, William Hugh Lewis of Forsyth; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jerry Garden of Cordele and Donna and Terry Abrams of Forsyth; granddaughter and husband, Tanya and Rick Goette of Milledgeville; great grandchildren, Wil and Morgan Goette of Milledgeville; sister, Lois Freeman of Rome; and niece, Nancy Lary of Rome.
Funeral services were held June 15 at Providence Baptist Church in Shady Dale, with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Kent Anglin and H.G. Drummond, Sr. officiated.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Shipp, Guy Norman, Sonny Poole, Dewey Rozar, Merrill Clark and David Shipp.
