Jack Spears, Sr.

Graveside memorial services for Jack H. Spears, Sr., 83, of Mansfield, were held Sunday at Carmel Cemetery in Mansfield. The Rev. Jeff Hay officiated. He died February 26.

He was born February 9, 1921 in Newton County to the late Joshua Baker Spears and Loy Smith Spears. He served in the US Army Corps during WWII, was a member of Mansfield United Methodist Church and was a farmer in the Mansfield area.
His wife, Betty Jean McDuffie Spears, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son, Jack H. Spears, Jr. of Mansfield; daughters, Nona Withers of Atlanta and Gloria Wilkins of Mansfield; brother, Ralph Spears of Mansfield; sisters, Jule Touchstone of Covington, Marguerite Anderson of Gray, and Barbara Joiner of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
