Coyle Hayes
Funeral services for Emory Coyle “Casey” Hayes, 80, of Macon, were held at Snow’s Memorial Chapel with burial at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Elders Loyd Blair and Daniel Bryant officiated.
He died January 3 at his residence.
Mr. Hayes was a native of Jasper County born to the late Jonathan and Estelle Niblett Hayes. He retired from Robins AFB after 36 years of civil service including several years at the Naval Ordinance Plant in Macon.
A combat veteran of World War II, he served with the United States Army in the European Theater in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. He was also a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church near Monticello.
His brothers, Davis Hayes, Donald Hayes, and George Isaac Hayes, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nell McElheney Hayes; daughters, Ruthie Smith of Warner Robins and Cindy Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Kacey and Kristy Smith of Warner Robins, and Logan and Leighanna Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; and a number of other relatives.
Pallbearers were Doug Hayes, Terry Hayes, Daryl Hayes, Earl Colvin, John Wilson, and Mack Tillman.
