Sallie Jackson

Funeral services for Sallie S. Jackson, 95, were held December 13 at Springfield Baptist Church with burial in South View Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Horton officiated.
She died December 9.

Mrs. Jackson was born December 16, 1907 to the late Rosa Johnson. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and worked hard her entire life doing farm and domestic work.
She was affectionately called Granny.

A son Willie James Rooks, and two sisters, Mildred and Pearl, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Annie C. Taylor of Monticello; son, Jimmy L. Rooks of Atlanta; brother, Vince Johnson of Monticello; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
