Ruby Newby

Ruby Newby died Friday, Dec. 12, at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

She was born in Madison County, Ala. She lived in Leesburg, Ga., until the late 1930s when her family moved to Jasper County. Her parents were the late Cornelius Franklin Fore and Hettie Elizabeth Fitch Fore. She was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 14, in the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Burial was in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello. Dr. Kerry Bunn officiated.

Her sisters, Fleurdelis Fore Hamlin and Mary Emaline Fore, and brother, William Roy Fore, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Cecil Howard Newby of Marietta; daughter, Carole Newby Christian of Canton; grandchildren, Keith Newby, Wayne Newby, Robin Christian, and Jeri Tzimenatos; and great-grandchildren, Kristi Newby, Katie Newby, Quinton Newby, Devon Tzimenatos, and Anslee Tzimenatos.

Pallbearers were Keith Newby, Wayne Newby and Mike Tzimenatos.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
