Richard Thomas
Funeral services for Richmond “June” Thomas, Jr. were held Tuesday at Midway C.M.E. Church will burial in the Eatonton City Cemetery. The Rev. John W. Hall officiated.
He died December 12.
Mr. Thomas was born June 24, 1934 to the late Richmond Thomas, Sr. and Everlena Lawson Thomas in Eatonton. He was the fourth of eight children.
He attended Brown Chapel School in Eatonton before moving to Kelly in 1961. He farmed with E.F. Perry & Son before working 20 years for Lewis Logging Company. He later worked for Bestowall Food in Monroe until retirement.
His brothers, Millard and Joe Lewis, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Faye Hicks of Shady Dale; brother, Walker Thomas of Eatonton; sisters, Dorothy Mae Ammons, Alma Willis, Regina Gotel and Eunice Smith, all of Monticello; grandchildren, Shannon Sierra Hicks, Kadesha Jeffries and Melissa Jeffries; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; special friends, Roosevelt and Johnnie Mae Battle and Lorena Hicks.
Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
