Vera Goolsby
Funeral services for Vera Naomi Goolsby were held January 18 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Shady Dale. The Rev. Joel McKibben officiated.
She died January 11.
Mrs. Goolsby was born April 7, 1931 to the late Henry Robinson and Dinkie Robinson. She joined Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She later married Morris Goolsby and moved to Covington, where she spent most of her life.
Mrs. Goolsby became ill and moved to Macon until her recent death.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Virginia Cheryl Boateng; grandson, Patrick A. Boateng, II of Beltsville, Maryland; four sisters, Betsy Jordan of Monticello, Mattie P. Gaines of Macon, Mellie E. Perry of Covington, and Alice Bolden of Oxford; two brothers, Roy Robinson and Charlie Robinson, both of Atlanta; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
