Annie Stewart Grimsley
Funeral services for Annie Mae Stewart Grimsley were held December 28 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Myers, Fla. The Elder George Jones officiated.
She died December 22.
Mrs. Grimsley was born January 13, 1927 in Eatonton to the late Richard and Mary P. Dumas. During her early childhood her parents moved to Monticello where she attended Crossroads School and Church.
In 1946 she married J.Z. Stewart and to their union two sons, Johnny Stewart, Sr. and Alonzo Stewart, were born.
Both sons preceded her in death and also her grandson, Alonzo Stewart, Jr., and three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include her husband, William H. Grimsley, Jr.; sisters, Ella Standifer of Monticello, Johnnie Mae Rogers of Fort Myers, Fla. and Bonnie Dumas of Marrow; brother, Tommy Jackson of Monticello; 11 grandchildren, Johnny Stewart, Jr. of Columbus, Jimmy Boyd of Fort Myers, Alonzo Stewart and Michael Foster, both of Atlanta, Leslie Stewart, Tracey Stewart Glover, Lisa John, Shonda Stewart, Dawn Curry, all of Fort Myers, Onieka Stewart and Tamara Stewart, both of Orlando, Fla., and Shavonda Henry of Killeen, Tex; 10 step-children; 28 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
