William Talmadge

Funeral services for William Talmadge, 35, were held November 29 at St. James A.M.E. Church with burial in Southview Cemetary. He died November 23.
Mr. Talmadge was born April 7, 1967, in Monticello to the late Sarah Talmadge. He was an accomplished poet who gave his writings to many of his friends and often read them at community church services. He had worked as an assistance attendant with Smith and Sons Funeral Home. His grandparents, Billy and Daisy Talmadge, preceded him in death.
Survivors include cousins Nancy Hipp, Gale Brown, and Freddie Hipp all of Atlanta, Joseph Hipp of Monticello, Charlie Butts of Greensburg, Pa., Valerie Butts-Fair, Stephen Fair, Jarvon Whitehead and Joshua Brown all of Atlanta; godmother Dorothy Jean Phillips of Monticello.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
